Abstract

The requirement for human oversight is a central requirement for so-called high-risk AI systems in the draft regulation on artificial intelligence. Concepts of human oversight provide for different degrees of intervention options, although no uniform standard has yet been developed. This article sheds light on the legislative process behind the regulation and classifies the requirement for human oversight from a legal and IT perspective.
