Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission file is in DOC, DOCX, or RTF format.
  • The text is single-spaced, uses a 12-point font, and employs italics for emphasis (no underlining except for URLs); all illustrations, graphs and tables have been inserted in the appropriate position in the text (not at the end of the document). All citation software-specific formatting has been removed.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text follows the formal guidelines and citation rules laid down in our Style Sheet.
  • The author has provided an additional, anonymised copy suitable for peer review.
  • The author confirms that their advisor has been informed of this submission, should they currently be a PhD student.
  • The author confirms their compliance with the standards of best academic practice.

Author Guidelines

Before submitting your contribution, please make sure that it complies with the following guidelines:

Please note our Style Sheet for contributors. Manuscripts submitted for consideration must contain the author's name and institutitonal affiliation (if applicable). Please make sure to include an abstract (200 words approx., clearly separated from the text) and up to four keywords.

Please consider taking a look at the citation rules as well. 

The University of Vienna Law Review welcomes all types of submissions. 
We particularly encourage contributions of 50.000-100.000 characters 
including spaces and footnotes (equivalent to 20-40 law review pages). 
For book reviews, replies and current discussion, we recommend 
25.000-50.000 characters.
 
This journal does not charge APCs, submission charges or any other charges.
